Creating a prison out of a warehouse would seem to be leading directly to a humanitarian crisis. No wonder they don’t want anyone to have input or submit to governance. These people are monsters.

A real fucking shocker.

Shutting out the public becuase you couldnt handle your job (which is a PUBLIC service job) is just so- well its exactly how this country runs.

Sharing and thinking of boycotting all businesses in my neighboring county if they sign this. Will be hard as I am a volunteer at Antietam National Battlefield Park, but I don’t want to contribute to the county’s economy if they do sign in cooperation with ICE.

Great reporting on a sad and disgusting policy. Thanks for your hard work.

A great opportunity to be a menace and make them regret this choices. No need to say where you live if you aren't in their county.

I called the president and VP and left messages but feel free to spread the love.

I called each of them and asked them to return my calls...none has. Vote each and every one of them out!

These commissions are completely abdicating their responsibility to our community. I was one of 200 people at their meeting last week. Only 50 were allowed in. As we could not speak All of us had sign clearly expressing we do not want this jail here. There is no way ICE management can make humane lodging for 1500 people out of an empty box of a building permitted for this little water use. You know they will blue chain link cages and like in Baltimore force people to sleep on concrete floors with no bathroom privacy. How will YOU sleep at night knowing human beings are being treated like this HERE. In this town?

It’s clear the commissioners are afraid of the people they supposedly represent.

Throw the bums out!

When do our elected representatives realize that they are a co-equal body of government and stand up for democracy for all!

Not taking public input is absolute cowardice. Using a disruptive constituent as an excuse for not having public input should be challenged in court. They must allow public input or be sued!

They are advertising their racist status

If you want this in our state or anywhere you are a racist

Remember who you vote for

Voting is a poor solution because they’re Elected by Voters to 4-year terms with terms ending in different years. There are two Washington County pages with publicly available information about the Washington County Board of County Commissioners bios
